Frigidaire

We toured up Snowshed (7400') and desended a NW aspect. No formal pits dug, no lingering with todays bitter temps. 

• Similar to the last blast of Arctic, most of the stronger winds being channeled down the MF River corridor. Within the drainages, light-moderate winds existed at ridgetop locations. 
• Sensitive windslabs (6-8") (4F hardness) existed on leeward (W) terrain, especially near ridgelines. Shooting cracks and collapsing observed; windslabs ran easily on steeper pillows. 
• We kept it to gladed, moderate terrain (35-40*) and experienced little surface sloughing. Wind effect was nonexistent below 7000' on this NW, sheltered aspect. 
• Cornices are being eroded on typical, leeward aspects. 
• Clouds were thin and visibility improved throughout the day; no recent signs of slab avalanche activity,  debris from loose, dry observed in runouts of steeper chutes.
