Today, I traveled to Spider Bowl and was pleasantly surprised to find 2-4 inches of light snow. At the ridgeline (approx elev 6000 ft), there was no wind and little evidence of recent wind effect. I observed small point release stuffs in steeper terrain. Visibility improved as the day went on, I saw no recent wind effect on surrounding ridgelines and peaks. The skiing was superb. At one point, I ski cut what I thought may have been a lingering wind slab, but I did not observe any propagation (see photo). I felt comfortable skiing steeper terrain.
