Quick Observation
Roadside observations to monitor developing snowpack.
Along the Middle Fork Corridor, snow coverage is thin, patchy, and localized to alpine terrain.
Near Marias Pass and Skyland, snow coverage is more continuous and at all elevations. Snowfall from September's big storm has melted back to dirt on many low elevation solar slopes and remains as a stout melt-freeze crust on shady or wind drifted slopes. The most recent storm has covered all of these surfaces with about a foot of snow.
