Cornice fall on Mt. Aeneas

2nd hand observation from our weather station expert who was working on troubleshooting Mt. Aeneas wind sensor.

• Fresh cornice fall likely ran last night on Mt. Aeneas. The cornice pulled well onto flat, solid ground on the ridge.  It was "half the size of a helicopter".  The cornice did not trigger any slabs on the slope below it.
• Flying to and from the site, they could see numerous cornice falls and wet loose avalanches that likely ran during the last rain event.
• The 2/1 crust is stout at the weather station site on Mt. Aeneas  (7,200 ft).  Boot penetration is zero.  Helicopter penetration is four inches.
