Some forays into the WMR sidecountry today yielded a few observations.
Intense, S3-S4 snowfall came and went several times during the afternoon. Consequently, we saw sloughing of surface snow on NE aspects in Canyon Creek, and of the upper 15cm of new snow that had accumulated atop the most recent crust on the opposite, SW aspect of Half Moon Slide. The new snow was behaving as loose dry, not storm slab as fracture wasn't propagating. Some clearing patches came between the snow showers. Temps were below freezing, and winds were light to non-existent.
The skiing was nice, aside from the thinly buried pit we skied through just off Ghoulie, which proved to be a bit chunky.
