We returned to the Middle Fork to enjoy soft snow on a day off.

• The main difference from yesterday was the increase in wind—blustery conditions at times with plenty of blowing snow.
• The snow surface on sheltered aspects remained loose, low-density snow and graupel.
• We were able to trigger small harmless loose slides with ski turns on steep slopes.
• There was small isolated cracking around our skis near wind-exposed ridgelines. No collapsing, shooting cracks or other signs of instability were noted.
