spent the weekend up the whale creek drainage. we had near continuous snowfall from friday night thru early sunday morning, tallying 4-8". winds from the west were promiment at upper elevations, >7k'. some stubborn wind slabs at ridge line but otherwise uneffected snow in the trees. we had good stability with the exception of new snow on the recent rain crust at mid elevation, around 5k. of note, there was some surface hoar formation on our snowmible in friday and on open solar aspects we noticed a wafer thin crust near surface (sun?) but did not effect skiing.
