Once we gained the summit, we noticed a recent avalanche that was not there from earlier in the day. The crown was small, roughly 4 to 5 inches thick, but propagated fairly wide. Possible a small cornice fail caused this.

We spotted this with binoculars from the Swan. I could easily pick out large debris field below the west face of Great Northern. No crown was observed.
