Saw an old D1 skier triggered avalanche on a NE aspect around 7000 feet. Only a couple hundred feet below on a N aspect a pit revealed no crust/facet layers after digging more than 5 feet down. ECTN12 40cm down on what may have been an old storm interface. The avalanche was in open terrain and wind loaded terrain and the pit was in sheltered terrain 15 feet below the ridgeline. Wind was lightly blowing from the north, but no slabs had formed.
