Went to the divide this morning to start high and prolong visibility prior to the storm. Found dust on crust in the trees and 1/2 to 1" breakable crust in the alpine at 7500' where I decided to bail. At upper elevations the crust was sitting on 6" heavy snow that failed on ECT 10 with propagation. Lots of wind transport in ridges. Lots of d1 looking debris off steep leeward terrain
