15 cm 1/13 rain crust, extending above my turnaround at 5800'. It was ski supportable, mostly not boot. 1 or 2 cms of fresh on top of crust is already decomposing and faceting, could be the Chapter 2 layer of concern. Cool to see the 1/13 slab obviously ride up and over the stauchwall, interesting ripple look to it in photo 2.
Most of the tour was spent wrestling the alder and wind throw jungle. Turned around at 5800' after looking at crowns in the basin.
Did not observe top crown, but it pulled out a lower panel that I clawed my way up to. Down 50cm, failing on SH and small facets. Crown had refrozen loose water along its face.
