Toured up Pt. 6914 above Skyland road in search of mellow burn pow and found it in abundance. Also found plenty of wind and snow transport. On our first ascent we noted a small cornice and heavy wind loading on the summit ridge. Second ascent we felt a substantial whumpf on a wind slab that had been formed by an upslope wind (the wind was swirling all day). At the top of our third and final ascent we transitioned and descended down a ~25 degree shoulder that flanks the slide path. When we got to where the ridge begins to mellow we turned the corner and noticed the slide. Not 100% sure we triggered it, but given the proximity of our decent to the start zone, and how fresh the debris looked (again it was windy) it seems likely. Neither of us heard or felt a collapse. The slope that failed was actively wind loading all day, and we suspect the slide failed somewhere near the Jan 13 interface due to the depth of the crown, but did not investigate. We felt very glad we were on a slope below 30 degrees and not exposed to the slide path.
