Quiet on the Western Apgars

Took a quick afternoon drive to look for natural avalanche activity on the western side of the Apgar Range. Didn't see any.

• Despite mostly clear skies everywhere else I could see from the valley, a cluster of clouds over the North Fork kept the Apgars and Livingston Range in a little more shade.
• The bush line has crept up to about almost 5,000 feet on the western slopes. There's good bushwhacking to be had below that elevation.
• I saw some larger-than-expected cornices still in tact on Demers Ridge.
• There are a lot of wind deposited features - dunes, cornices, drifts - from crossloading winds along the upper portions of the Apgars right now. Some of the southwest-facing fetches are stripped almost to bare ground.
• Temps in the North Fork got to near 50F by mid-afternoon. Though light south winds made it feel a bit cooler.
