We headed up to Tranquil Basin for reasons that are now somewhat unclear. Also unclear: the best route through all the downfall that's now melted out of the meager snow cover down low. It's clear that this approach is pretty extra this late in the season. However, we perservered and found nice corn on the uptrack. Above 5500' we found between 10-20cms recent snow above a crust; this was moving as loose wet naturally, and also breaking at our feet as we skied SE aspects off Mt. Furlong. North aspects above 6000' had drier snow that glopped wonderfully on our wet skins. We saw evidence of roller balls on all aspects, and breifly glimpsed some large wet activity that had come a long ways down into Cascadilla on the drive home.
