Quick Observation

Toured up Skook Ridge today to look for some turns out of the wind.

-Little to no wind in the trees, but strong gusts along the canyon floor.

-Did not observe any recent avalanches in Skook chutes. Plenty of snowmobile tracks along Fiberglass Hill.

-No shooting cracks along skin track, or on run back down to the canyon. Dry loose sluff from recent days was managed with ski cuts and appropriate terrain selection.

-Snow pit location at 6645' on WSW aspect: HS 169cm CT18 @ 28cm TD 120cm. Failed on faceted and rounded grains <1mm. This layer is easily identifiable with probe or ski pole.
