Toured up skook peak. Sunny aspects had a soft sun crust, shaded aspects held better snow. Found the old surface hoar layer 20cm down on a N aspect, and new surface hoar is forming on the same aspect. Kept the skiing angle mellow with the lurking surface hoar in the area and the number of skier triggered slides on that layer this week.
