Toured up to 6900 feet today in the Middle Fork. Travel was excellent and fast on supportive surfaces except for a short moment of glopping remedied by skin wax. We glowed in the Sun with temperatures at freezing level in the mountains.
Before committing to our descent route we dug a pit just below the starting zone of an open east facing chute. We had no propagation on the 2 weak layers (30 down and 50 down). Warming temperatures were a concern on our route, but we did not see any roller balling. We skied one at a time keeping eyes on each other till we could see all the way down, then let it run on the soft pow, wind buff then eventually corn to the creek.
Good find today!
