Dug a hand pit, found about 40+ cm sitting on top of the wafer thin rain crust, followed by another 30-40 cm sitting on the october snow. Moderate to hard force failed on that october layer, but with poor shear quality. Western aspect, elevation of about 6k. no other signs of instability, though we skied sheltered aspects. Dry, loose snow sloughing on steep north and western aspects.
