North vs South Surface Conditions Hellroaring Peak

We toured to Hellroaring Peak in order to assess the surface conditions on the North and South aspects.

• Sky was overcast and prevented the south facing crust to soften.
• Crust was unsupportable to skis and noticed some cracking underfoot. Crust was approximately 2" thick.
• Below the sun crust there was 6" of loose snow that was sitting on top of the Thanksgiving crust.
• On the north aspect up to 12" of loose snow was sitting on the Thanksgiving crust.
• On Hellroaring Peak we found conditions were generally stable today .
