Dug two full snowpit profiles at Goulie Point. Stuck to low angled, protected terrain. Visibility was poor so could not see adjacent terrain for avalanche activity. Obvious cohesive 30 cm slab from past 24 hours resting above lower density snow from earlier in the week. No obvious cracking or collapsing on our short tour, but again we stuck to the ridge and other slopes less than 30 degrees except for the test slopes where we dig two pits.
Pit 1: SE, 6500', slope 27* Failures in the new storm snow slab: CT4@40cm down, Q2. ECTP1@40cm down (w/ propagation), Q2. No reactivity on the crust at 1m down.
Pit 2: NE, 6500', slope 37* Failure in the new storm snow slab: ECTN6@30cm down. Failure on crust at 90cm down with extra hard force at 33 taps
Lightly snowing, temp 0F, winds NE 5-15mph.
