Our party toured in Tranquil Basin today. We dug 3 pits on an W aspect, an E aspect and a north aspect. We skied all aspects. We skied 6- 12 fresh inches on top of a thin crust. Skiing was enjoyabke on all aspects and elevations.
Pits results -W aspect 7000 ft.,3 5 degrees , ECTP25, 40 cm down. The weak layer was some buried surface hoar on top of a snow density change.
E aspect 6900 ft., 35 degrees, ECTX
N aspect 7400 ft., 20 degrees, ECTX
