Skied up Cascade Creek the last couple of days. On day 1, dug a pit on a NE aspect at approximately 6000'. Observed surface hoar buried at 75 cm but no results/propagation in ECT.
On day 2, kicked in an alternate skin track on the ascent, so I could jump around on some rolly polly terrain. Tromped on a few convexities, rollovers, mini-cornices etc...but did not note any whumphs or shooting cracks.
On a NE aspect off Nyack, I observed a fairly large slide which looked like it broke in the last 24 hrs. My best guess would be the slide was triggered by a cornice failure from west winds and heavy snowfall between the 27th and 28th???

Observed a fresh slab avalanche that likely ran within the past 24 hours. Several small crowns broke on a steep rocky face and apeared to have initatted a larger crown (>5' depth) below the face where the terrain slackened.
