Toured in the Skyland area for three consecutive days: Sun/Mon/Tues
-Skied East and Northeast aspects primarily. Despite the fickle weather; found quality snow in the shaded and wind-sheltered within 6000'-7000' for the duration of our stay.
-Experienced a wide variety of surface snows, greatly dependant on aspect, elevation: rain crust, melt freeze crust, sun crust, graupel, windslab, powder. Strong west winds scoured the ridges; wind slabs developed on leeward aspects although no signs of instability were observed.
-The warming event yesterday (1/29) cooked Southerly aspects up to 7000ft; rollerball and tree bomb activity observed. This morning a layer of graupel was deposited onto said sun crust in most locations.
-Snowfall began to increase (light to moderate) upon our departure. Temperatures trending cooler.
