Quick Observation
Toured up Skook Ridge leaving the boundary at 1015 am.
Winds were light and out of the SW
On the Skook ridgeline small winds slabs were easy to triggered on the North facing slopes below.
We skied the East Ridge of Skook into the creeek before heading up to Dorothy. Conditions were not bad. Suppotable, Firm surface with a 2 inch buff on top.
On our way up Dorothy ridge the winds were Moderate to Strong and the snow accumulation increased. By the top of Dorothy the winds made a quick switch out of the North, but only for a short blast
We skied Auntie Em and again the conditions were not bad. Suppotable, Firm surface with a 2 inch buff on top.
To complete the horsehoe we skinned the canyon road, then up below the Beaver Pond and Kona to the top of Ghoulie. Skinning was pleasant. Soft Snow with a micro crust just under the new snow surface.
We skied the West aspect off Ghoulie back in bounds and were once again surprised that the skiing was not terrible.
