Afternoon tour into the Jewel Basin today. Wet snowpack with rain/warm crust from lower parking lot up to about 4800' where the snow pack transitioned to more winter like. Snow started about 1 pm and increased with notable wind from the east transporting snow back onto the previously wind scoured west face. there was recent wind/storm slab failure below cornice on NNE aspect at 6400'. appeared to be shallow 2-4" and ran about 100'. no other natural seen. sheltered tree skiing saw no snow instabilities.
