traveled into the noisy basin region and enjoyed settled powder on every aspect. no evidence of wind effect here, though we traveled no higher than 7k. mostly light winds with occasional gusts with only minimal transport. skied up to short pitches of 35 degrees without significant sluffing, no cracking, collapsing, etc while skinning and breaking trail. dug one pit at 6400', ne aspect. hs 175 cm. ectn 14 45 cm down, probably change in density of snow during the storm. ectn 27 85 cm down, which is the previous persistant slab layer problem. again able to get a clean shear with the shovel after completion of the ect test. no evidence of natural activity as the afternoon cleared up.
