Went up the Apgar Mountains and found an increasingly thick rain/ice crust. Once near the ridge/on the ridge traversing north to the high point we found an ice crust that in spots completely supported our weight while boot packing. Noticed a lot of shooting cracks in the top crust layer. Surprising to us we found some nice blown in snow on the descent making the turns enjoyable.
