Generally poor skiing below 6000ft. There were wind loaded pockets of good snow, identified by subtle differences in surface texture, but it was difficult to find them during the descent due to mostly flat lighting. Good stability, poor skinning, marginal skiing.
Toured into the Apgar Mountains yesterday. Good snow coverage down low for the approach. Still not enough to bury the plague of doghair lodgepole, but strategic routefinding will keep your head above the brush.
