Toured in the marias pass area today. High point of 6900' skied NNE aspect. Thick crust on S aspect up until it thinned out around 6000, kicked off a few small cornices on east aspect ridge about 6300' no propagation on test slope below. surface hoar wide spread on south to north northeast aspects above 6500' we were on, about 2 mm in size. dug pit at high point on NNE slope. 12/22 layer is 75cm down slope angle 37'. ECTPN30 30cm down on a fragile crust. light wind. lots of tracks almost felt like inbounds skiing, There were 4 other groups where we were. Always be aware of people above or below you.
