3" of new snow.
Localizied south east winds overnight coupled with higher humidity and and warmer temps created a soft slab overlying lower density snow from the past week.
Winds were moderate, creating some wind features in open areas and ridge tops with the passing of the snowfall overnight.
Clearing in the afternoon allowed for some solar heating on southerly and west aspects.
South west aspects below 5500' became moist, trees started to shed snow.
Trail breaking was difficult with the upside down snow pack and ski pen was about 18".
Ski quality was fair in the open areas and a bit better in the trees where the wind had less of an effect on the snow surface.
No signs of snowpack instabilities or recent avalanches.
What's with all the PINK flagging tape?
