I rode my fat bike to Two Medicine Lake and back on this past Saturday and Sunday. Sorry I didn't post an obs sooner, but lots going on outside of self care...
I expected to see some avalanche activity on Rising Wolf as I repeated (Saturday 2:30pmish and Sunday noonish) a fat bike ride to Two Med Lake, but the only thing I saw as of 12:15pm on Sunday 12/22/19 was one small wet slide that stopped midslope and hardly ran on a S to SE aspect of Rising Wolf. I saw several spots where rollerballs had run and maybe brought along some other snow. Much Sunday was partially cloudy with periods of clearing and temps in the valley floor barely rising above freezing. Saturday was mostly constant rain and lots of wind. On Sunday I made note of slopes that came into view on the ride in and out and saw no signs of slab avalanche activity. Hours later I watched the sun set and then rise early morning Monday. From East Glacier, looking West I saw no obvious signs of slab activity on Bison, Henry, Ellsworth or Dancing Lady when viewed from 1/2 north of the East Glacier Lodge. I wish I had a spotting scope at my friends home...
