Toured up some mellow terrain in the park today. Above freezing at the car. With light snowfall and no wind. At about 4500 ft noticed in some places the ice crust was turning to what looked like huge facets. Snowfall and wind increased throughout the day. Dug pit at 5800' ectn13 on facets above the crust. There is a layer of surface hoar 3 inches above the crust that looks to be healing no results on that layer. High point was 6800' enjoyed great low angle skiing. Winds picked up drastically on our decent. I think we left at a good time.
