Afternoon quicky:
Despite calm conditions, the snow surface showed signs of recent wind.
Wind slabs were thin and unreactive.
Up to 14" of recent snow on top of mid-January crust, appears right side up and bonding well.
Surface Hoar (and graupel) on all aspects and elevations traveled.
No obvious signs of instability.
Our plans did not include any slopes greater than 35 degrees, maybe tomorrow...

Multiple hand pits on E and SE 6200' to 7100' had following structure above the crust: Current snow surface = surface hoard 4-10mm and grauple 2mm 8 cm 4F up to 25 cm 1F 2 cm P crust Hand shears failed with moderate force just above the crust on a layer of graupel and stellars. Did not find buried surface hoar. Scattered cloud deck 6000-8000'
