We toured on Mt. Brown today to look for old wind slabs, investigate old buried weak layers, see any new blowing snow, and to check in on how today's new snow is bonding to the old snow surfaces.
We toured up the WSW ridge of Mt. Brown on the summer trail then poked around on W and SE aspects to look at the old weak layers around 5000-5500 ft. Once we reached the upper elevations we did some scouting on W aspects then chose to descend the S side.
