Walked the devils hump today. It involved Warm temps, overcast skies, gusty winds on ridge lines. Possibly rime for a brief period on ridge? The journey also consisted of plenty of character building on the entry and exit.
Today's winds seemed to be minamal in the sense of snow transport, possibly because of zipper rime crust(tho crust was not constantly spread thru out slope.) Gullies above 6000 were cross loaded with a wind slab. Slab was 2-4" thick. Did not experience any shooting cracks in our limited exposure on slab. Views were not great but there, was unable to identify any Avalaches on surrounding peaks. Probably best day of the year so far
