Today, students and coaches from Ridge Academy went to sniff out some soft snow on the top of the canyon. N aspects to about 6400ft were holding without wetting out, but below that, even with cloud cover, the surface was melting. South aspects featured a solid, nearly supportable 6cm crust. Surface hoar was present in many non-solar locations. Light winds, with increasing cloud cover as the day went on.
