Dorthy's 12/18/19

Stopped to dig a pit on a SE aspect off of Dorthy's. I was stopping out a platform to help with the digging when I felt a significant collapse. There were shooting cracks ~ 50' in front of me and 30' behind. We picked a less exposed spot to dig a pit and relocated. Total depth was 100cm. Down to 93cm it was fist hardness within recent snow. From 93cm to 77cm there was a 1 finger wind slab. From 77cm to 53cm it was 4 finger hardness of rounds. At 53cm was the first crust. At 40cm was the second crust but it was pretty hard to find and thin, and the bottom crust was really beefy at almost 3cm between 28cm and 25cm. We got an ECTN at 12 on the top crust but it did propagate halfway across the column with Q2 shear. There were no other findings during the initial test however we deiced to tap on the other end of the column because the snowpack was thinner on the other side and we got an ECTP2 on the bottom crust with a Q2 shear. I'm not sure how valid the last set of results are but the whole column came free with significant energy.
