-Toured to 6,600 feet on variety of aspects in different drainages
-Dry snow from the trailhead at 3,800 feet and unique travel opportunities for first 1,000 feet of ascent
-Alternating fields of cold dry snow and 2-4 inces of dense stubbourn windboard/windslab present from 4,500 - 6,800 feet
-Thicker windslab had formed on steep SE aspects close to ridgeline
-Best snow found in sheltered terrain on a variety of aspects
-At 4:30pm we noticed 2 new point release slides on SE aspects inititating close to ridgline and under rocks
Afternoon warmup lead to what we assume were two small point release avalanches that came close to our uptrack.
