Our group toured to Goulie's and descended the east ridge heading toward Kona. We descended approximately 100ft from the top of Goulie's and found a south-facing pit site. Shooting cracks were seen prior to arriving at Goulie's and became more prominent and numerous as we approached the pit site. At our pit we heard one localized whoomph 10ft below our position. Slope angle was 32 degrees at 6530ft. We had ECTP2 at 30cm from surface, which entrained the 20cm of firming snow from the Friday evening storm. We also had ECTN25 at 95cm. We chose to descend further down the ridge to more conservative terrain less than 30 degrees and relatively free of rollovers. The descent was thigh to waist deep blower.
