After snowmobiling to Upper Whitefish Lake a party of 3 skinned up the NW avy paths on Diamond Peak and the Northern Flanks. We took the path that leads to the summit of Diamond. Skies were clear up high with an inversion cloud below, the winds were calm. At 6400 ft. we dug on a W aspect, 32 degree slope. HS 110 cm. Our results were ECTP 17, 60 cm down on the most recent crust. We continued to the ridgeline observing whumpfing on 30 degree or less slopes. From the N flank of Diamond we skied a dense tree run next to our skinner. We skinned back to the same point and dropped into the skiers left avy path without observing any avalanche activity. The snow conditions were marvelous once again.
