Quick Observation

Skied up to 6,200 ft. in the Essex area today.

West-facing slopes got wind-loaded in this last storm (about 8-12 in. of new on west-facing, 3-5 on east).

No slides observed, no shooting cracks, some impressive whoomphing, though -- a few mellow slopes very loudly collapsed as I skinned across them, I assume on the recent surface hoar, but, again, no cracking observed, nothing moving downhill.

The incoming storm was getting way gnar around 11, colddd, 20 mph winds from the south-south east.
