Quick Observation

Bit windy, but still finding some good skiing.

  • Moderate mid elevation wind and strong along the ridge tops. Generally from a westerly direction.
  • Up to 4" of new snow of mixed forms and graupel.
  • Hard slabs along the ridge lines and developing soft slabs in exposed terrain.
  • Skied a variety of terrain, south, east, and north aspects from 7200' down to 4500'. 35+*
  • No signs of snow instabilities while skiing.
  • Cornices are growing, and we did see one cornice failure that triggered a small soft slab avalanche. 30' W, 150' L and about 18" deep.
  • Snow is still soft and skiing good on protected lee slopes.
