Skinned up and subsequently mostly back down Hellroaring peak today. The MLK crust was 10-15mm thick. Some facets growing on the crust observed starting around 6600 feet in elevation (first waypoint on GPS route). Dug pit on 25 degree S facing slope at 6587 ft altitude. Mostly 4F through most of pit but noted the old crust at about 90 cm. Two storm slabs reacted at CT22 (130cm) and CT30 (120 cm). HS 160 cm. Decided to skin down the 25 degree face for fun and route finding practice. Noted three seperate tree wells with tracks leading in and large disturbances around where riders appear to have slid in and self rescued over previous few days. Test with amateur Ham radio APRS system was also successful once I remembered to turn it on.
