Quick Observation
Toured into the Baldhead Mountain area Monday.
Weather
-Below freezing AM at valley locations (slight temp inversion, lack of solid refreeze in higher terrain) Rapid warm-up in PM.
-Skies broken during AM hours, turning to overcast in afternoon
-Moderate afternoon snow showers
Dug one pit on an ENE aspect @ 7100ft
-ECTP 16 @ 70cm from surface, Q1, (facet-topped crust layer)
-Moist surface snow capped a 1F hardness slab sitting atop two crusts 60cm and 70cm from the surface
Increasing pinwheel activity and moist surface snow kept conditions challenging throughout.
One large glide crack observed in the Lynx Creek area
