Skied a bit of everything in Jewel today and found surface hoar prevalent on north and east slopes. Surface hoar was mainly blown off right below ridge lines but mid slopes harbored quite a bit of 5-10 mm crystals. North face of Aeneas was blown clean of surface hoar. Way better skiing than anticipated, with soft dry styrofoam conditions where the wind hadn't hit and some supportable corn snow on south and west aspects. Very little breakable crust encountered.
