We found about 4inches of new snow and strong winds out of the west swirling in the basin, new cornice growth on the eastern ridge. Skin trail produced shooting cracks up to 10ft and signs of touchy windslabs. Dug a snowpit on an ESE aspect at 6800'. Failed on ECT15 on buried surface hoar 25 cm below surface. Retreated to lower angle terrain.
