Quick Observation
Snowmobiled up Canyon Creek into Kimmerly Basin and toured up the East Ridge.
New snow accumulations of 30cm and total snow depth of 320cm at pit site.
Dug on a North aspect at 6500 ft, 30 degree slope.
ECTP 28 @ 100 cm from surface, Q1.
Took some force but the slab popped out cleanly.
Loose snow avalanches from tree bombs scattered on steep slopes and rollovers.
Strong winds on the ridge from the South creating large cornices and wind slabs.
Lots of snow transport, poor visibility most of the day with short windows to clearly look about.
Off and on snow showers, heavy at times throughout the day. Graupel at the canyon floor.
Deep turns, plenty of sluff. Stayed on low angle and skied dense trees.
