- Observed evidence of one sizeable avalanche along the GTSR corridor in Red Rocks path (estimate: N-HS-D2.5-R2? start zone obscured in clouds)) probably from Jan 7th wet storm given age of debris - debris crossed road and hit creek ~10' deep x 100' wide (pictured)
- Observed evidence of 5+ recent D1 wet loose avalanches in Glacier Wall area with debris piles all terminating in aprons around 4000'
- Light snow falling yesterday with trace accumulation and woke up to 2" of new snow overnight at 3500'
- Recent snow above the super-crust (snow surface on Jan 19) varies from 4-6" at 4500' to >12" at 7000'
- Extremely obscured visibility above 5000' today (pictured)
- Temperatures held ~15*F with generally light SW winds above 6000' actively riming all trees, weather stations, and humans today
- Unconsolidated snow above pronounced super-crust with no observed cracking or collapsing at all elevations
- Given the low visibility we played it safe and kept in close sight of each other while skiing slopes at or below 30 degrees
- Garden Wall weather station woke back up with a new battery and some serious de-riming… and should be transmitting all current data in the next day or two (with the exception of wind direction)!
