Moist Boys Crust Huntin'

Toured into the Whitefish Range looking to gain elevation and excape the crust from earlier this week. 

• After sledding to 5800ft, we began touring and found that the crust disapeared around 6,300ft in our area. 
• Although the crust was no longer present above this elevation, the snow surface had widespread wind affect for the remainder of our ascent to 7,500ft. 
• Dug a pit on a ESE aspect, 7,450ft, HS 200cm.  Had propogating results (ECTP12) on a layer buried about 35cm below the surface.  
• We noted widespread avalanch activity, obviously from the weather event last week.  Avalanches on all aspcts.  Many appeared to have started as storm slabs or wind slabs up high, running to the valley floor accumulating wet debris.  Also noted a numer of avalanches at higher eevation that appeared to step down into weeker layers.  
• Rode shelterd low angle terrain, and had a blast.
