Headed up to the lookout on Mt Brown. There was just new snow until about 6500' and even above that the old snow base was inconsistent. Windloading on S and E aspects, 20cm to 40cm of new snow on those aspects. Very minimal wind slab development until the ridge that the lookout is on. Dug a quick pit N facing aspect at the lookout and found less new snow but more snow from the previous storms in October. The old snow has rounded out to meltforms and has a crust capping it. Near the bottom of the snowpack the meltforms were moist to wet. The snow looks really attractive to ski but you just end up skiing the logs and rocks underneath, still lots of walking.
